The new ports coming up in Andhra Pradesh are on the fast track

Andhra Pradesh is working on four new ports on its coastline of 974 km with an investment of about Rs. 120 billion. The work is in full swing according to the Andhra Pradesh Maritime Board (APMB). It is expected that all four ports (Bhavanpadu, Kakinada Gateway, Machilipatnam, and Ramayapatnam will be completed by the end of 2024 which will give a major boost to the economic development of the state.

As per the reports, except for the Kakinada Gateway port, the construction of the Ramayapatnam port is at a quick pace. The financial closure for Machilipatnam port is on the verge of completion whilst, for the Bhavanapadu port, the land acquisition, and the financial closure is in the final stages. The ports are built with a mission to attract industrial investment to the state.

After the completion, Andhra Pradesh will have a total of seven ports.
