The Salem Harbour Wind Terminal is a PPP (Public Private Partnership) between Crowley and the City of Salem and Avangrid, the energy company facilitating as the port’s anchor tenant. The terminal will be operated by Crowley wind services.

The upcoming terminal will be a logistics and operations center for turbine pre-assembly movement, staging, and storage of assembled components.

The VP and General Manager, Bob Karl of Crowley Wind Services, said they will continue to focus on delivering a high-performing terminal that provides economic opportunity and environmental sustainability. The port is also going to be a significant step forward for the Massachusetts offshore wind industry and the development of the port infra is needed to build a clean energy future for the US.

The construction of the wind terminal is expected to commence in the summer of 2023 and be completed by 2025.
