Gateway Distriparks Reveals New Inland Container Depot at Jaipur

A new rail-linked ICD (Inland Container Depot) construction near Jaipur is announced by Gateway Distriparks Limited (GDL). This will be GDL’s 5th ICD apart from 5 container freight stations, taking the total to 10 container terminals on a pan-India basis. The ICD will have the annual capacity to handle over 125000 TEUs and is located close to Dhanakya railway station.

An integrated warehouse will also be constructed that will offer first and last mile road delivery for providing end-to-end multimodal services to the industrial areas of the Jaipur market, including Jaipur, Bindayaka, Dausa, Kolana, Sitapura, Hirawala. The target market includes numerous markets such as artifacts, luxury textiles, ready-made garments, gems and jewelry, hand-knotted rugs, rubber-based prosthetics, food and beverages, agricultural products like guar gum, tobacco, minerals, automobiles, bicycles, machinery, and machine tools among other goods.

Prem Kishan Gupta, CMD of GDL in a statement said that with the launch of the National Logistics Policy, all the clearances will be under one roof and the ICD location can be developed as a multimodal logistics park that will be operational in the next 12 months. GDL will continue to add multimodal logistics parks at major industrial and trading hubs across Pan India.
