The Nigeria Customs Service has launched a platform for authorised economic operators for compliance traders. The platform is said to be aligned with the World Customs Organisation protocol and is protected by the New Nigeria Customs Service Act 2023. The new platform is planned and designed to methodically detect tolerable risks affecting the importation of legitimate goods into Nigeria. The customs office wants compliant traders and businesses should reap the benefit of the innovation as the platform is a game changer in trade facilitation.

The project is innovative and will promote ease of doing business across various sectors and attract investors to the country. The process set in place is anticipated to improve security and enhance efficiency in fast-tracking goods with less turnaround time for importers and double up the change of generative revenue and also bolster the mutual recognition between the service and stakeholders.
