Customs Clearance Delays Mount at Mundra as CFC Shuts Down

Mundra Customs has discontinued its Custom Facilitation Centre (CFC), shifting to manual processing managed by a Tax Assistant — a move that has triggered operational setbacks across the port. This change is causing disruptions in system maintenance, resulting in clearance delays and inefficiencies.

Customs Brokers and EXIM operators report daily struggles in securing timely cargo assessments, leading to increased detention and demurrage costs. The slowdown is especially concerning given Mundra’s role as one of India’s busiest container ports.

Trade bodies and logistics stakeholders are urging authorities to reinstate streamlined customs facilitation measures to prevent further economic impact and ensure smoother trade flows.
